The "Mathematical Modeling" competence was included in the list of AtomSkills disciplines in 2023. As part of the VIII Rosatom Industry Professional Skills Championship, the audience will see competitions in this competence for the first time. AtomSkills-2023 is being held in Yekaterinburg from June 16 to 21.
The partners in "Mathematical Modeling" competence included ROSATOM as the developer of the Logos engineering modeling software, ASCON JSC (license forKOMPAS-3D CAD system), Top-Systems JSC (license for T-FLEX CAD system), Rusatom - Digital Solutions LLC, Tsifrum Private Institution, and Mathematical Modeling Community.
"Mathematical modeling and the ability to apply it to solve practical engineering problems when making design decisions and justifying equipment operation modes is an indispensable competence for Rosatom," says Dmitry Fomichev, Director for Mathematical Modeling at Rosatom and chief industry expert in the competence, "A huge layer of projects requires not just skills in using Russian CAE systems that are replacing foreign ones. It is very important to be able to apply your knowledge in practice when solving real technology problems."
"Mathematical Modeling" at AtomSkills-2023 is a team discipline where a total of 9 teams for nuclear enterprises and Rosatom's backbone university MEPhI are represented.
Project teams will have to address a proposed engineering challenge that involves researching and analyzing the submitted design, solving the assigned thermal-hydraulic and strength problems, analyzing the results, and then developing presentation documentation.

For reference:
The Russian Government and major Russian companies pay great attention to systematic work on the formation and implementation of a long-term strategy for the development and utilization of human potential to achieve global technology leadership of the leading sectors of domestic industry.
ROSATOM's AtomSkills Industry Skills Championships are a tool for developing the professional environment, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experience between representatives of generations, and uniting specialists, students and schoolchildren into a single ecosystem for training and developing workers and engineers in Russia. The introduction of new standards of professional excellence allows Rosatom and its enterprises to occupy new niches in the market, increasing the competitiveness of the nuclear industry and the entire Russian industry as a whole.
