Mathematical modeling

The competence "Mathematical Modeling" is aimed at creating an environment of professional growth in which participants demonstrate and improve their knowledge and skills in mathematical (numerical) modeling of physical processes and phenomena occurring in industrial structures and equipment of various complexity, using Russian software products 1D-3D modeling.

Work on the competence "Mathematical Modeling" is a team activity.
The contest task is performed by the team and the score is given to the team.

Each specialist is tested for the level of proficiency in two groups of knowledge and skills

  • Preparation of materials with presentation of key results of the contest task completion

Skills are evaluated through the quality and effectiveness of work actions.

    Application of 3D modeling tools for thermohydraulic processes (using the Logos Aero-Hydro software) and analysis of the results
  • Criterion B
    Application of 3D modeling tools for solid deformable body mechanics (using the Logos Strength software) and analysis of the results
  • Criterion C
    Application of 1D thermal-hydraulic process modeling tools (using the "Repeat" software) and analysis of results
  • Criterion D (included in criteria A, B, and C)
    Formation of presentation materials with presentation of key results of the contest task completion

Ad platform rules

  1. Work on the site – both Participants and Experts are conducted strictly according to the work plan on the site
  2. Working hours are tracked by a timer
  3. There should be no foreign objects on the participant's desk that allow them to communicate with colleagues in order to help complete the task.
  4. It is allowed to conduct communication among Experts and Participants in English (if there is a foreign team).

Site operation plan

  • The site's work plan is published, as well as the schedule of educational lectures and master classes.
  • The plan contains all the important information necessary for the work of Experts and Participants
  • We start and finish working on time

Participant's workplace

  • The Participant's workplace is equipped with a personal computer with pre-installed software required to complete the competition task
  • Participants are allowed to use notebooks, calculators, reference literature, and other reference materials necessary for completing the task.

STRICTLY PROHIBITED BY THE RULES

  1. During the competition days from C1 to C3, bring to the workplace and/or remove from the workplace any information in electronic, printed or handwritten form
  2. Use third-party computing resources to complete a competitive task
  3. Perform attempts and / or data transfers from on-site and off-site workstations by any means other than those permitted by the Contest Task
  4. During the contest task, communicate with anyone without the permission of the Chief Expert, except for the members of your team
