Maintenance and repair of relay protection and automation equipment

Electric machines and devices, cable and overhead power lines and other parts of electrical installations and electrical networks are constantly flowing with current and are under voltage. In the course of operation, normal modes of operation may occur and damage may occur, leading in most cases to short circuits (SC).
SCs are the most dangerous types of damage, arising from breakdown or interruption of insulation of electrical equipment and power lines, wire breaks, erroneous actions of personnel (inclusion under voltage of grounded equipment, disconnection of disconnectors under load) and other reasons.
Accidents can be prevented by quickly disconnecting the damaged section of the electrical installation or network using special automatic devices called relay protection devices, which act to disconnect the switches.
The competence "Maintenance and repair of relay protection and automation equipment" is aimed at creating a professional growth environment in which participants demonstrate and improve their skills in working with complex relay protection equipment both on an electromechanical and microprocessor basis, state-of-the-art verification equipment, skills in analyzing waveforms, analyzing design diagrams, and checking the correctness of installation secondary switching.

Completing and evaluating a task

The results are evaluated by experts on the day the module is completed. The maximum number of jobs is 14. In case of a larger number of participants, they are divided into groups to perform a specific module.

  3. There should be no foreign objects on the participant's desk: flash drives, notebooks, headphones, smart watches, cases, bags, etc.
  4. The following items are allowed on the participant's table: a fountain pen, pencil, paper, medicines, and eating at lunchtime.
